This Sunday July 22, 1-3 pm
Potluck 2-3 pm

Oh do come.

This Sunday, July 22 Circle of Protection gives Virginians another fine moment to stand with Union Hill as this historic community prepares to fight for their very breath against the proposed Atlantic Coast pipeline compressor station.

Join us as we lift our prayers and our spirits, inform our minds, and choose our right actions. Music by Emily Robey Morrison and the Yes Brothers. Opening prayers by Reverends Ray McKenzie and Virginia Agee and by Interfaith leader, Kira Young. Story by Caroline Bray of Virginia Student Environmental Coalition, Country church potluck and guest speaker to follow.

NOT A DONE DEAL: The proposed 54,000 + horse power ACP Compressor Station in Union Hill would endanger and diminish the lives and land values of all residents of Buckingham County and it is still possible to stop it.  The permits for the pipeline and its compressor station are not complete and all aspects of the project are currently being challenged in court.

Learn more.  Join your neighbors who have researched the facts and bring yourself to the important work of protecting your water, air, health and right to own your own land.

Any time you have is enough, is needed.

THE AIR WE BREATHE: The next key part of stopping the compressor station is to let your voice be heard when the Air Permit public comment begins. Currently the Department of Environmental Quality is accessing the air permit application submitted by Dominion ACP.  In the coming weeks the draft permit will be released to the public and there will be a public hearing and a 30 day comment period. United we stand. This community needs your voice at the hearing and your comments to DEQ.  This compressor station is larger than most by industry standards and would bring the county loud noise, high risk of explosion and toxic poisons to our air and water.

Friends of Buckingham will send you an email blast to let you know as soon as the public hearing and comment starts. You can subscribe to our newsletter and learn more here: http://www.friendsofbuckinghamva.org/calendar/

Even better, to be notified when the public comment period for the draft permit starts and the date of the public hearing, please sign up at http://townhall.virginia.gov/ and register as a public user.  During that process you can sign up for email notifications from the Air Pollution Control Board.  If you’d prefer to review scheduled public hearings on Town Hall, go to http://townhall.virginia.gov/L/meetings.cfm and select Air Pollution Control Board under the Regulatory Board drop-down menu.

Thank you Kay Ferguson for facilitating these events! And the many kind hearts giving helping hands.  Water is Life. Protect It!
