Solar Bill will Put Counties on Clock with a 2026 Deadline

Jan 25, 2025 | Industrial Solar

The Farmville Herald reported on HB2126. (Click to read the story. A subscription is required.)

This bill gives state authorities the power to strong-arm local government into approving industrial solar projects. It restricts local decision-making on things like how much industrial solar would be in a community. It forces county ordinances, comprehensive plans, permits, and zoning, to conform to narrow state definitions or face the consequences.

Note: A date has not been set for when the House Committee on Labor and Commerce will be considering HB2126.
