Riverstone Solar Construction Town Hall, March 4th

Mar 3, 2026 | Health & Safety, Industrial Solar, News

The next Riverstone Solar town hall is tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th, 5 pm–7pm at the Arvonia Fireman’s Building. This is the fourth quarterly meeting.

Developer representatives will be present. Construction is currently on hold, and representatives have said it is expected to resume in the coming months. This pause is an important opportunity for the community to raise concerns and seek commitments before work begins again.

Why Attendance Matters

The Special Use Permit included specific conditions covering roads, buffers, and neighborhood impacts. Consistent community attendance helps keep our concerns known, and those questions get answered on the record. The more the community speaks up, the more seriously these concerns are taken.

Questions Worth Asking

This meeting is a good opportunity to ask developer representatives directly:

  • Why is construction currently on hold, and when is it expected to resume?
  • Why did the original contractor leave the project, and who is the new contractor?
  • What is the revised project timeline?
  • Will the new contractor be made aware of the restricted roads, buffer requirements, and community commitments before mobilizing?
  • What will be done to make sure the restructured part of Paynes Pond Rd is NOT used by construction traffic?
  • What will be done for road safety? Bus stops? Equipment hauling?
  • How will the community be notified before construction resumes?
  • Are there any issues on the site?
  • Bring up and ask anything you want to know about the project!

Making the Most of This Pause

With construction on hold, there is time to work through these issues before crews return. That window will close quickly once work resumes. Showing up on Wednesday, asking specific questions, and staying engaged through the spring is the most effective thing the community can do right now.

Wednesday, March 4th | 5pm–7pm | Arvonia Fireman’s Building, 46 Boxwood Drive Rd, Arvonia, VA 23004
