Heidi Dhivya —
“AWAKE: A Dream From Standing Rock” is the new documentary film from directors Josh Fox (“Gasland”), James Spione and Myron Dewey that chronicles the Water Protectors movement and #NoDAPL resistance camps at Standing Rock.
Bold Alliance is proud to be named as a producer of AWAKE, and Bold’s Mekasi Camp Horinek — who spent many months embedded at the camps at Standing Rock — is featured in the film.
Today at 7:45 PM CT / 8:45 PM ET, the entire world will be able to stream AWAKE on their computers, mobile devices and Smart TVs, as the film makes its world premiere Earth Day debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC.
For the next two weeks, you can host your own screening of AWAKE with your community in your homes, places of worship, community centers – really anywhere you can get an internet signal.
Click here to learn how you can view the film and bring AWAKE to your community.
Getting the movie streamed as much as possible is really important. Rather than charging for the film in a traditional way, online audiences will be able to donate any amount they want (between $1-100) to stream the film. All proceeds will go to the Indigenous Media Fund and Pipeline Fighters Fund supervised by the film’s creators and a council of Indigenous leaders to support Native-led direct actions, Indigenous filmmakers and journalists.
The more people who see the film, the more our movement will be called to take action and continue the fight for justice, equity and freedom from oppression in all forms.
By hosting a screening, you can help us make sure this important moment continues, as you’ll learn more about numerous calls-to-action you and your community can take part in — including our current fight to stop the Keystone XL pipeline.
Thanks for all you do.
