Activists are calling for an explanation and different decisions from the commonwealth’s lead environmental regulator. A group of about 20 gathered outside the Department of Environmental Quality’s Richmond office for a demonstration Wednesday to voice those concerns.

The demonstration was about two main grievances with the Department of Environmental Quality, or DEQ. Activists are against the coal ash disposal plans in Virginia and there is concern the head of the DEQ is a little too close with Dominion. Read more
