Please attend the April 20th Board of Supervisors meeting at 6pm to show your support for blocking Valley Link from building their 765kV structure through 20 miles of BUCKINGHAM COUNTY. Valley Link is NOT following right-of-ways. This is a new green space swath that is 200 feet wide and comes within feet of homes and land that some of us have worked hard for our entire lives. Keep in mind, we continue to pay taxes, and a hefty tax increase at that!!!!! This is personal for your family, friends, and county residents!!!!
This line, fed by ValleyLink and Dominion self-admission during meetings, supplies power to Northern Virginia data centers. We are just being used as a pass-through county. But we are left with the devaluation of property values, corona hissing sounds of electricity running through the lines, potential well and spring poisoning from herbicides sprayed to maintain the right-of-way, an increase in childhood leukemia (which is documented), deforestation, negative impact on flora and fauna, 165 foot structure in view of MANY homes, mental, emotional, and financial trauma, etc. Plus, DO YOU KNOW this transmission line is a spine for future data centers? Do you want a mega water-consuming data center near you to consume your well water? Do you think Dominion or ValleyLink cares about your well-being?
Please support those of us facing this direct threat by attending the Board of Supervisors meeting on the 20th and by emailing the Buckingham Board of Supervisors, the Governor, your delegate, and anyone else who has a stake in Virginia. The Board of Supervisors normally meets on the 2nd Monday, but they have changed the date this month.
