Get help to send comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) website about the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). Volunteers will help guide you through the process of submitting your comments. Your voice matters! They don’t know if we don’t speak! These comments will be important when we take FERC to court due to lack of proper evaluations of the ACP.

Key concerns Buckingham residents can make comments about to FERC:
- Why is Dominion Power, as ACP LLC, targeting Buckingham for the only compressor station in Virginia = Buckingham unjustly burdened? When, it is a gas-industry-standard to locate CSs every 40-60 miles to lessen safety (fire, explosions, and leaking), noise, and health effects.
- It’s against the law (National Environmental Policy Act – NEPA) to continue the practice of most often locating environmentally toxic new development in minority communities. Union Hill is at least 90% African American.
- There is no need for this interstate pipeline at all to serve Americans. The existing Transco Pipeline, first built 50 years ago, has 4 pipelines in their corridor now. The Dept. of Energy reports that is all U.S. needs until at least 2040. Transco is already mostly paid for.
- Dominion ratepayers will pay entire cost, but receive not 1 drop of ACP gas = ACP is not a public utility. Gas is for end-points to ship to foreign markets. So, U.S. rates will go up and Dominion stockholders alone will benefit by huge profits at zero new costs.
- CS neighborhood is zoned only for A1 Agricultural use, not a 68-acre industrial facility; 57, 860 hp would transmit billions of cubit feet a day of volatile fracked gas (not “natural gas”) at highest pressure allowed by law. *2 above ground and 1 underground storage tanks, *transmission tower (not reliable underground fiberoptic cable), *Remote monitoring, not local personnel on site.
- The toxic emissions, noise and loss of property value will have negative effects on existing: agriculture, farming, cattle & other livestock, chickens, orchards, timber; businesses or pleasure and tourism money from using clean air, water, and soil: Yogaville retreat center (6,000 visitors yearly); hunting; James River sports.
- Property values here are already slashed. Many landowners can’t sell at all.
