The U.S. Forest Service this afternoon issued a draft record of decision to authorize the use and occupancy of National Forest System lands for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. The Forest Service release statement is available at: https://www.fs.usda.gov/ Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/ fseprd551404.pdf.

The release statement sets forth the following parameters for objections to the draft record of decision:
Individuals who submitted comments to FERC during the public comment periods are eligible to object to this draft decision. Objections may be submitted to the Forest Service for 45 days ending at midnight, September 5, 2017. After objections are resolved, the Forest Service will issue a final decision on the project. This latest development, which had been expected to occur as early as today, will be discussed in more detail in next week’s ABRA Update.
