July 23: Tell McAuliffe – solar panels, not pipelines! Join the March on the Mansion

MOM 7 23 16

On July 23, Friends of Buckingham will join more than 60 other student, faith, social justice, and environmental groups from all across Virginia to tell Governor Terry McAuliffe that we need a better plan to stop harmful carbon emissions, take away the power of big polluters over our public interest, and invest in clean energy in our state. We need real leadership from the governor on solar panels, clean air and water, and climate justice!

You can learn all the details of the March on the Mansion and sign up by clicking here. We even have buses and vans coming from all parts of Virginia to make it easier for you to stand up for environmental justice. FoB is working on getting vans for Buckingham participants.

Sign up for the July 23rd “March on the Mansion” at www.marchonthemansion.org. We’re marching to defend our land, clean water, and climate — and we need you there!

This is going to be one of the biggest environmental and social justice rallies in Virginia’s history.

We’ll come together as students, landowners, faith and justice leaders, climate activists, moms and grandparents. We’ll have music, great speakers, special trainings, and a wonderful, colorful march to the Governor’s mansion. We’ll tell the Governor that we want a transition to clean energy now, so that whole regions of Virginia are not sacrificed to polluting companies who spoil our rivers, beaches and farms.

Like in the fight to stop the Keystone XL pipeline, people are coming together from across many areas and across communities to say “no” to dirty power and “yes” to something much better: solar energy and offshore wind and energy democracy.

Sign up for the July 23rd “March on the Mansion” at www.marchonthemansion.org. Find a bus in your region headed to Richmond!

If you know our Governor and our state can do better, then make plans for this historic day of people power and citizen action in Richmond.

Like on the Keystone XL pipeline, we can win. We can build a better future if we stand together.

See you July 23rd!
