WHY- As criticism continues to grow against Dominion’s Atlantic Coast Pipeline, including a call for a moratorium from Virginia Governor Northam’s own Advisory Council on Environmental Justice. The Air Control Board will be holding a public hearing on issuing an air permit for the project, Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 5pm in Buckingham County. This teleconference will give the press access to local residents, community organizers and will discuss technical, social, racial and environmental concerns regarding the ACP, including a 55,000 horsepower compressor station planned for Union Hill.
WHO- Representatives from various community organizations opposed to the Atlantic Coast pipeline, including an African-American descendant of Freedmen who founded Union Hill, The Friends of Buckingham, VA Environmental Justice Collaborative and VA Advisory Council on Environmental Justice.
