Join ARTivism Virginia’s and the SUN SiNG Collective’s on line concert and workshop series.
From Artivism Facebook page: Feeling socially distant? Isolated? Down about the cancelled concerts and events you were looking forward to this spring? As we stay at home to keep our families and communities healthy, it’s more important than ever to stay connected – and we at ARTivism Virginia prefer to connect through art.
Starting Thursday, April 9th, and continuing every other Thursday, the SUN SiNG Collective will be broadcasting from their respective locations across Virginia for “SUN SiNG iN PLACE: Thursday Night Bi-Weekly Concert Series.” We’ll be bringing you an hour of music, spoken word, pipeline updates and action opportunities straight to your living room, kitchen, or wherever you may be tuning in from, every other Thursday!

We’ll be broadcasting music from individual Collective members and those they’re quarantined with, as well as guest ARTivists and leaders in the fight against the Mountain Valley, Atlantic Coast, and MVP Southgate pipelines, and other threatening fracked gas infrastructure in our region.
Each concert, we’ll be posting information about our guests and partners in the work, so stay tuned on this page for updates!
The SUN SiNG Collective is a group of musicians and visual artists formed in 2019 to create, record, and perform original material to support the work of the broad, deep, and growing coalition fighting fracked gas infrastructure. The group, led by co-producers Graham Smith-White and Kay Ferguson, collectively arranged and remotely recorded “To The River”, and original song by member Joshua Vana, using the Sun Bus, an off-road vehicle with solar-powered recording and concert-level sound capability.
Their work last spring culminated at the SUN SiNG Concert in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the music ensemble has continued to show up to support those fighting for environmental justice in our region.
Tune in! We look forward to seeing you and connecting through song – until we win!
Be sure to check out the ARTivism Virginia page for our alternating Thursday night events – STREET SiNG Workshops!
